The Lawson Academy cannot provide on-campus instruction earlier than September 7, 2020.  The announcement came on Friday, July 24 from the Houston Health Department and Harris County Public Health.  Students will be allowed to attend distance learning using computers provided by The Lawson Academy.  The restriction is a result of the current COVID-19 situation in Houston and Harris County.  No school sponsored events, including clubs, sports, or extra-curricular activities, are allowed.

Not being on-campus does not mean not at school.  Classes will begin on August 17, 2020 as scheduled.  All students will be provided laptop or desktop computers, headphones, school supplies, WiFi connection in their home and three meals daily.  The instruction will use distance learning and all students are expected to attend class daily.

The start of in-person instruction and activity may be delayed further based on ongoing monitoring and assessment of public health mititgation conditions.

We want to see you -- safe!

The Lawson Academy will provide computer technology to 100% of students, checked out on campus the week of August 3, 2020. If a parent/student prefer a desk top instead of a laptop, just ask!

Laptops or desk top computers will be checked out to every student, along with headphones and power cords.

No student will be allowed to learn using personal laptops, desktops or tablets.  In the spring of 2020, use of non-Academy equipment resulted in interface and access problems.

The Centers for Disease Control have created a Self-Assessment for Coronavirus which can help you decide whether your student is able to return for school on campus.  Feel free to take it each time your symptoms change.  The Lawson Academy is committed to YOUR safety and the safety of everyone on campus.
