Founded in 2002 by Mrs. Audrey Lawson to serve the academic and social needs of inner-city youth, the Academy provides a student-centered environment with high expectations, mutual respect, and an enriched learning community for middle school students in grades 6–8. Originally designed as a single-gender program for boys to address their unique needs in a safe, supportive setting, the Academy expanded in 2011 to include girls, offering both groups rigorous academics, character development, and meaningful relationships that foster success.

Our vison is to create a student-centered, collaborative learning environment in which our scholars utilize innovative learning approaches and technology to become college-ready and to develop into civic-minded, contributing members of the global community.
